Your files never leave your device

Most "free" converters make you upload your file to their server first. That means a copy of whatever you're converting, whether it's a photo, a PDF, someone's ID, or a document with real information in it, leaves your device and lands on a computer you have no control over. Maybe they delete it right away like they claim. Maybe they don't. Maybe it sits in a log somewhere, or gets swept up if that server's ever breached. You're just trusting a stranger. Lotus Convert never asks you to make that bet. Every tool here runs using capabilities your browser already has built in, the same rendering and decoding engine it uses to display web pages and play videos, so your file gets converted directly on your own device. It never leaves. You could turn your Wi-Fi off after the page loads and every tool here would still work fine.

Runs entirely on your device

Remove the background from a photo.

Drop in a photo and get it back with a transparent background. A small AI model does the work right in your browser. It needs to download the first time you use it, so that first run takes a little longer. After that, it's quick.

How this actually works

This one grabs a small AI model and downloads it to your browser the first time you use it, then runs it locally to pull the subject away from the background. Your photo never gets sent anywhere. Since it's running the model on your own device, it can take a bit longer than the other tools here, especially that first time. If the first pass doesn't come out clean — can happen with weird angles, low light, or the subject blending into the background — it automatically retries once with a slower, more accurate model before showing you the result.

Is this safe for photos of people?
Yeah. Since it's all processed on your device, it's a solid pick for portraits or personal photos you don't want uploaded anywhere.
Why did the first run take so long?
The model has to download once. It's a few megabytes. After that your browser caches it and it's way faster.
Can I remove a background from a photo without uploading it?
Yep. The model runs right in your browser, so the photo never leaves your device.
Why did my result come out blank or barely changed?
Usually a weird angle, low light, or the subject blending into the background. It'll auto-retry with a more accurate model when it notices, but a well-lit, front-facing photo generally works best.

About Lotus Convert

This is a small set of tools built by one woman who got tired of "free" converters that make you upload a file just to change its format. Everything here runs in your own browser instead, so there's no server in the middle holding your files. No huge company behind it, no investors, just something built to work the way a tool like this should.

The site is supported by ads (you'll see them on the page) rather than accounts or subscriptions — that's what keeps every tool free with no file limits and no watermark. See the privacy policy for details on how those ads work.
