Lotus Convert doesn't do that. Every tool here runs using your browser's own built-in tools — the same engine that draws web pages and plays videos — to decode, transform, and re-encode your file directly on your computer or phone. The data never crosses the network, so there's nothing to intercept, log, or leak. You can even disconnect your Wi-Fi after the page loads and every tool will keep working.

How background removal works here

This tool downloads a machine-learning model to your browser the first time you use it, then runs that model locally to separate the subject from the background — no photo is ever sent to a server for processing. Because the model runs on your device, this can take a little longer than the other tools, especially on the first run. If the first pass doesn't separate the subject cleanly — which can happen with unusual angles, low light, or low contrast between subject and background — this tool automatically retries once with a higher-accuracy (slower) model before showing you the result.

Is this safe for photos of people?
Yes — since the photo is processed entirely on your device, it's a good option for portraits or personal photos you wouldn't want uploaded elsewhere.
Why did the first run take so long?
The model (a few megabytes) has to download once. After that, your browser caches it and later runs are much faster.
Can I remove a background from a photo without uploading it?
Yes — the AI model that removes the background runs locally in your browser, so the photo is never sent to a server.
Why did my result come out blank or barely changed?
This can happen with unusual camera angles, low light, or low contrast between the subject and background. The tool automatically retries with a more accurate model when this is detected, but a well-lit, more head-on photo will generally give a cleaner result.
